Harley’s Story: How the Gladiator K-Nine Collar Helps Dogs Combat Anxiety

Harley recently lost his best buddy, Roscoe, and he hasn’t been the same since. People get anxious when in stressful situations, and loneliness can add to our anxiety by causing undue stress. While it’s difficult to completely remove anxiety and stress from your life, it’s possible to manage it. It’s commonly known that dogs suffer from anxiety as well, and they have a much harder time managing it.

Our best friends suffer from a specific type of anxiety called separation anxiety. It’s derived from one’s need for companionship and growing anxiety when left alone with no one by your side.

This is what Harley has.

Who is Harley?

Harley’s story starts with Roscoe, a rescue Pitbull that loved to run. Because he was home alone a lot, his owner got him a buddy to hang out with, and this buddy was another Pitbull named Harley. Harley and Roscoe were 5 years apart in age, but they still both loved to run and chase after each other. This was their regular routine until tragedy struck.

About 6 months ago, Roscoe at the age of 11, was diagnosed with cancer. He was no longer able to run and play with his buddy, Harley. A few weeks after diagnosis Roscoe’s pain was no longer tolerable and he was laid to rest.

Harley, understandably, has struggled ever since with the loss of his buddy. Whenever he got in the truck alone, he would have a total meltdown. This would take the form of constant panting behind his owner and pacing back and forth in the back seat. He just couldn’t settle down.

To try and help, his owner put on the Gladiator K-Nine Collar™, and in a matter of minutes, he completely stopped panting and laid down in the car for the first time in 6 months.

What Is Separation Anxiety for Dogs?

Separation anxiety is a psychological condition. Dogs with separation anxiety experience excessive fear and/or anxiety about being parted from their companions. Companions can be other pets or their owners. This can cause physical stress that has long-lasting effects on their health if not treated.

Long-Term Effects of Canine Anxiety

If your dog has separation anxiety, they may show signs of anxiety that lead them to act like completely different dogs. This can take the form of a variety of behavioral symptoms, including:

  • Destructive behavior
  • Excessive barking or howling
  • Urinating in the house despite being house-trained
  • Pacing around

If not properly addressed, separation anxiety can start to have long-term effects on a dog’s health and well-being as well.

Health Problems: Chronic stress and anxiety can have a detrimental impact on a dog’s physical health as much as their mental health. Your dog’s immune system can grow weaker, and they can become more susceptible to illnesses, develop gastrointestinal issues, and/or suffer an increased risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease. Stress can also exacerbate pre-existing health conditions a dog already has.

Decreased Quality of Life: Nobody truly enjoys life while experiencing continuous anxiety, including your dog. A constant state of stress can lead to a decreased overall quality of life, affecting their ability to engage in normal dog activities such as playing, exercising, and socializing.

How Can Gladiator K-Nine Help a Dog’s Anxiety?

When Harley’s owner was struggling with helping the poor pup get through the loss of his best friend, he was looking for a way to calm his buddy down. Dogs mourn like we do, but they don’t have as many ways to pick themselves up as we do. Gladiator K-Nine has sought to rectify that.

Our far infrared technology has had success with treating a host of issues in humans and horses by boosting the body’s ability to heal and operate. This has helped people’s brains treat the chemical imbalances that cause issues like anxiety and stress to mitigate the effects, among other things.

With this healing technology, we’ve developed our collar that can help your dog by:

  • Calming them down
  • Reducing their stress (mental and physical)
  • Boosting their immune system
  • Helping their physical healing process

Since wearing it, Harley’s owner has seen a marked improvement in Harley’s behavior and stress levels. While we can’t bring back his best buddy, our collar can help Harley mourn and heal and get back to being the happier pup he was before.
